Christmas is approaching and looking back to the past, I still vividly recalled my experience in Malaysia. Exactly the same date a year ago, I had just arrived in Kuala Lumpur, barely 2 days I knew no one, understand nothing, I took a taxi to Kelana Jaya station and rode the LRT all the way to KLCC. I gasp at the sight of majestic Petronas Tower and the high tech driver-less LRT. Christmas was such a joyous affair last year, not like this year. Days were filled with shopping, sale, going to mamak endlessly, travelling around, and of course thick pocket and credit cards. These days, I spend my time looking for houses at the net, staying at home to save money and looking for jobs. Oh, I miss those days... And I do miss all of you guyz there, especially Bebek, Tonny, Indra, Dewi, and Sue... :(
I can't go home either this summer, this will be my first time to spend summer in Melbourne. Been here for more than 6 years, yet never once stay for the whole 3 months of summer. I guess, I will miss those ang pau in Chinese New Year and my family back home. My wish to meet my godbrother in Singapore, my friends in Malaysia, and my family has to be postponed again indefinitely. Despite all of these, I'm grateful that I have someone right now and I just got a news that I get job in Nandos.

死刑
For the past few weeks, the news about Van Nguyen, the Australian drug smuggler who were hanged in Singapore were so big here. Despite all the compassion for him and his family, about 47% of Australian still support his death by hanging, including my own my god brother in Singapore. I found this so appaling and disgusting. How can you let someone die, I can't imagine what his mom has to go through, her healthy son who she can only see through the glass had to die the next day.
Whatever the reasons are, capital punishment is wrong. You can punished people for their crimes, jail them or force them to do social work. But taking lives or cut hands (like in muslim law said) is plain wrong and barbaric. We have no rights to do that, we are just god's creations like others and we have no rights to take His creation.
I never say that Van Nguyen is innocent, but what he done is not equal to the punishment. And it's not like he is a regular smuggler or doing it for profit. He is just doing this out of love to save his twin brother from the loan shark. I can't imagine what his brother has to go through for the rest of his life.
Does capital punishment really works and effective? According to the statistics and articles I read during my high school years, it is not. Look at USA for example, despite the capital punishment put in place, the criminals are just as high and doesn't affect the crime rates overall. In my opinion, most likely just being effective at the first time they introduce it. And singapore is still is the transit hub for the drug smugglers.
Whatever the reason is capital punishment is a murder, it takes people's life and doesn't change anything except a broken hearted mother and brother.
Rest in Peace, Van Nguyen

クイズ
| You Are a Kogyaru! |
If it's cute, you'll wear it. Fake and bake, hair bleach, and bright makeup line your bathroom cabinet. As for clothes - anything that's short and cute ("kawaii!"). You are the prize object of all sorts of men - but you are really looking for a rich foreign guy. He'll find you out hanging out in Shibuya shopping at the 109, text messaging and sending photos over your cellphone. |

^_^
I copied this from slvn's blog, hehehe... :P.. It's very nice...
A girl went to ask a guy: "do you think I'm cute?" the guy said "no", the girl asked "do you like me?", the guy casually replied "no", the girl started to cry and asked "if I died will you be sad?" the guy still replied "no", the girl cried and ran away. The guy quickly grabbed her back and said, "you're not cute because you're gorgeous, I don't like you because I love you, if you die I would not be sad because I shall die with you". This is a story that we await which is excellent though with something to remember, "you live on this Earth not to find a perfect person to love rather find ways of loving someone who is not perfect".

悲報
Just saw a sad event unfolding before my eyes and I found this sentence to touch me and understand the experience even better and let the water comes through...
"It is through understanding, 2 people comes together. It is because of understanding, they let go of each other. Love is none other to let the other part fly free when the times come."

マレーシアの祝い
Yesterday, got chance to go to Malaysian Carnival, heaps of free food! Actually, malaysian students can get $10 free food voucher, but dunno why my friend ended up with 5 or 6 of them worth $50 or so... Bought the satay, cucur ikan bilis, curry puff, laksa penang, teh tarik, and nasi biryani. Yum yum... Wonder when Indonesia ever held this kind of thing and actually, supported by the government.
I found that many Malaysians here still have their pride, whatever race they are, Chinese, Malays, or Indians. My generations, who were born in Indo and living and studying overseas, don't bloody care what's going on back home. Most of my friends actually prefer to stay here after finishing uni. I wonder, what will Indonesia be in the future. Those who has overseas qualifications do not go home, those who has money put their money and children overseas. Don't the government ever realised that slowly Chinese is becoming a rarity someday and without them, I'm pretty sure the economy won't survive.
On friday night, I went out with my straight friends, it was a very sad scene, 6 single guyz and 1 girl. All of the guyz, except me of course, were actually desperate for a girlfriend. We had drinks in Max Brenner after dinner and saw a straight couple dating, sitting just next to me. The guy is really handsome, delicious enough to eat, LOL... My friends actually looking at them and learning the dating tricks, hahaha...
And one of them is asking my help for fashion makeover next week, hmm.. Is my sense and understanding of fashion that good? But this will be a good challenge. Mind you, my friend is kinda short and chubby, so choosing the right one will be a bit hard. However, if I do succeed and my friend can recommend me, I have to start charging for my service, how about $50 an hour sounds? :P
